The New Session

Here in Iowa and across the country in Washington DC the legislative session has begun. New members in both parties have taken their seats. And, as always, there are promises to work across the aisles.

Fortunately in the State of Iowa, the Republican party has kept it’s majority control of the Iowa Assembly and the Governor’s office. Even with the majority there is a lot of work to do in order to improve our state and to secure the blessings of Liberty.

In our nation’s capital it is another story. The House of Representatives has a Socialist Democratic majority. Leftist agendas of class division, high taxes, and increasing government size and control will become the secondary focus. Revenge and the impeachment of President Trump and his officers will be their primary focus for the next 2 years.

On the other side of the building, the Senate has an increased Republican majority. This will hopefully prevent a guilty verdict in any impeachment trials started by the House. And a sanity check on any bills that originate with the Socialists in the House.

However I am a little bit worried. There are plenty of RINOs in both the House and Senate who have already opposed the President’s agenda to Make America Great Again. These Republicans In Name Only may side with the Leftist majority in the House and bring an end to the 45th Presidency or put a stop to his agenda for the next 2 years.

There is a possibility that the President will name one or two more Justices to the Supreme Court before 2020. And without Senator Grassley’s leadership on the Senate Judiciary Committee there may be appointments loss. Senator Lindsey Graham is an on-again off-again supporter of the President. He may cave to Leftist pressure.

The next 2 years will be interesting times for our President and our Republic. Politics will be heated and divided. There will be an ideological war between Socialism and Capitalism, between big government and limited government, between righteousness and the sin-filled world, and between Western Civilization and Islam.

A lot is at stake. The free world hangs in the balance, teetering on the edge of destruction.
