I see memes and other postings across social media that shows just how ignorant the followers of the Left are when it comes to historical facts and it just makes me want to scream. But it also gives me plenty of opportunity to make a blog post about it and ridicule them.
Generally these false history topic memes and postings are similar to the one below. If it were a bucket it would be without a bottom.
But this meme shows the President on one side with the caption “Go back to where you came from!” Which was the President’s advise to those members of Congress that hate everything about the nation they were elected to serve.
And on the other side of the graphic is an old black and white photo of an American Indian in traditional tribal dress. This has the caption of “So when are you leaving?“
Well the President isn’t leaving because he doesn’t hate this nation. That is the reason he told those 4 members of Congress to leave. Context is important to understand what something is about.
And the President comes from New York. When he does leave office in 2024 that is where he will go back to living.
Historically, the American Indian tribes lost the land and are entitled to nothing. They are a conquered people and lost everything under the Right of Conquest. Ownership was changed. Adapt, perish, or war for it back are the only options available.
And to be fair their ancestors, just like the President’s, migrated to this land. Both legally I might add. The American Indian’s warred against other tribes and took their land and spoils of war. It’s simple history.
Now the left in this country is taking a page out of the Al-Qaeda play book. Erasing history because it is offensive.
It started with the Confederate flag. Having it removed from State flags throughout the South. Then having it removed from the public square. And of course demonizing anyone who dares to raise the Stars and Bars.
Now it’s moved to Confederate Memorials. These, by Federal Law, are US Veteran Memorials. It doesn’t matter that they were originally rebels to the Union. Removing them is the same as removing the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
It has been asked, “Where does it end?”. At what point do we draw the line and say no more.
Most of our Founding Fathers were slave owners. Do their statues and memorials go next? Do we chisel away the faces from Mount Rushmore?
The casual reader may laugh and think these ideas are absurd. But they have all have been seriously discussed about in liberal history revisionist circles.
Even under President Obama the Treasury Department seriously put forth plans to revise our currency. Removing the slave owning Founding Fathers who also suppressed the rights of women from our every day currency. Replacing them with likenesses of former slaves and pioneers in the women’s suffrage movement. No more men on our money.
Slavery was and will always be an evil act. In the 17th to 19th centuries it was a way of life and livelihood for many. One that historically speaking was championed by the Democratic Party and opposed by the Republican Party and it took a war between the several States and a Republican President to end the practice in these United States.
We shouldn’t be tearing down these monuments to history. They should be our road maps. To show us where we came from and how much further we have yet to go. And a constant reminder of our shame.
Erasing all trace of our history, no matter how vile, means we have not and cannot learn from it. And thus we are doomed to repeat it. But the revisionist Liberals want to make it a thoughtcrime to believe anything else.
