Not enough votes in the Senate

The reason why there aren’t enough votes in the Senate to pass legislation to repeal and replace Obamacare is very simple. The proposed legislation does not repeal and replace Obamacare. It’s that simple.

The proposed legislation modifies Obamacare but it is not a repeal and replace which was mandated by the People. And thankfully there are some Senators who know and recognize this fact. Thus there aren’t enough votes for it to pass.

With the mid-term elections just around the corner those wise Senators don’t want to come home to their People and explain why they voted for legislation that breaks their promise. And those that were in favor of the bill will have a lot of explaining to do when they get home.

Both the House and Senate Republicans need to grow a pair, as the saying goes, and pass the complete repeal of Obamacare. Then work on getting the health insurance industry in line and get reforms in on actual health care as well.

  1. I just heard the news on the legislation failing to go before a vote. This will be a bad thing for the Republicans in the next election cycle. The Democrats will get credit for trying to help and the Republicans will take the blame for not making repairs. It will die on the vine and Republicans will not be liked. You can’t give a benefit to people and then take it away.

    1. Mark. The Democrats wont get credit for trying to help. They opposed the legislation from the beginning. The House version which did pass and the two attempts in the Senate which never came up for a vote. Democrats will spin the story that the Republicans tried to take away health care from sick people, from granma, and from everyone. And only wanted to help the rich like Trump. That is the Democrat spin.

The Democrats do not want to change a thing in Obamacare. It is their dream come true to take over the health insurance, because it’s not about care at all, market. And eventually force all insurance companies out of the health insurance business. That makes the government the single payer and provider of health insurance. Socialized medicine, waiting lists, and all the baggage that goes along with it.

It’s the Republicans who will get blamed alright for not doing what they promised during the campaign. For not doing what they did for years under President Obama. Many times they passed the complete repeal of Obamacare. Scrapping every word of it in the House. But with the Democrat controlled Senate at the time. It never came up for discussion or vote and would be vetoed by then President Obama if it did actually pass.

The Republicans have failed the People. The People that gave the Republican party at victory in 2016 was to say. Yes repeal Obamacare, get rid of it, every single word. And they failed to do so in the House and the failed to do so in the Senate. Why? Simple they too are part of the swamp. If they would have passed it, President Trump would have signed it. But if it doesn’t get passed they can say they tried their best and keep their jobs. But I have a feeling many may get primary challengers in the mid-terms by those that will repeal Obamacare and keep their promises to the American People so we can drain the swamp of DC.
