The War on Journalists

In February President Trump referred to the mainstream media in a Tweet as the enemy of the American People. And the Left went berserk. They apparently forgot that the Leftist candidate for president in 2016, Hillary Clinton had stated that all Republicans were the enemy of the American People. Both statements were wrong.

I have seen the news outlets, what is dubbed as the mainstream media, move from reporting facts to giving opinions and pure fabrications. This has happened all in the last 50 years or so. No news outlet is immune to this fact. Take your pick on either side of the so-called aisle. FOX. CNN. All of them. Its not the news, its not the facts. It’s all opinion and story.

I don’t think that either of the new outlets due justice to the news. One has to look at all the sources. One has to look at the ideological bent of those who are reporting. One one has to find the facts for themselves instead of just regurgitating what FOX or CNN said and treating it as Truth.

In our modern world, with the technology that we all posses. We all can be “the press”. And just as the 2nd Amendment protects the lawful ownership and use of weapons. The 1st Amendment protects the lawful ownership and use of words.

I don’t have a high opinion of “FAUX” (FOX) news or of the Commie News Network (CNN). Both have led to this distrust of the media. Both need to report the news and facts and let the people make up their own minds. But the media is not the enemy of the American People any more than Republicans are the enemy of the American People.
