Last night President Trump gave his 2nd State of the Union speech before a joint session of Congress. This was better than his first SOTU. Well done Mr President!
During the speech the President touched on the importance of history and those who sacrificed for American greatness. He touched on the evils of Socialism and what happens to prosperous nations that mistakenly follow that path. And he vowed that the United States would never follow it.
Several heroes were recognized for their contributions. Several living legends of the Second World War along with survivors of Nazi persecution. And one of the men who walked on the surface of the moon.
The President did speak on the accomplishments of his Administration over the last 2 years and his future vision for the next 2 years and beyond. We do need to secure our borders by every means necessary. In places where a wall needs to be built, a wall should be built. This of course is not a wall along the entire border. That is just silly and not being purposed at all.
Our health care industry needs to be reformed, so the cost of medication can be brought down so it is affordable without government price fixing and without Socialized Medicine expansion.
Crime and sentencing reform has already moved forward with bipartisan support. And we can build on this momentum to truly work on other evil and wicked practices within our nation. Mainly the protection of the yet unborn.
Racism has been a problem since the dawn of man and the falsely perceived notion that mankind is made up of more than 1 race. The science of genetics has proven that race is made up. We, as a nation, had made great strides in limiting and suppressing racism. But this has made a comeback thanks to the divisions created by the previous Obama Administration. It will again take some time to undo that damage. And President Trump is leading that charge.
Immigration reform is needed in our nation. Legal immigration needs to be encouraged and promoted. This is the way its been since the beginning of our great country. But unlawful entry and those who overstay their visas is a big problem. As well as those coming here just to have a baby to then chain migrate their entire family is also an issue. All of these and more need to be addressed by Congress and the Trump Administration.
The President touched an many points. The speech was fantastic and great. And there were some Democrats that even applauded parts of the President’s speech despite some of their colleagues not doing so out of hatred and spite.
Our President is doing good things. Although with a divided Congress for the next 2 years some things will not get done. 2020 will bring its own challenges and we will continue to move forward making and keeping the United States of America the greatest nation on Earth.
