Leftist Lexicon Word of the Week

There are times when a topic for a blog post is harder to find than the point of an Elizabeth Warren Presidential run, but there are other times when the perfect topic drops into your lap. Ladies and gentlemen, the latter occurred, thanks to the Mueller Report.

Whether you were hoping Robert Mueller’s report would exonerate or condemn President Donald Trump, the world waited with bated breath for a 400+ page report with redactions. It was almost like watching fans waiting for the next Harry Potter book Harry Potter and the Quest to Buy J. K. Rowling a 43rd House. And what we found was…well, let’s just go to the definition and analysis.

the Mueller Report

What the Left thinks it means – a report that proves Donald Trump obstructed justice and worked with the Russians to steal the 2016 Presidential election

What it really means – one of the most expensive door jams in American political history

I’m not usually cynical, but when it comes to politics and the theater of the magnitude of the Mueller Report, it’s hard not to be. From the beginning, I felt it was going to be an inconclusive waste of time (and taxpayer money) because no one was going to be happy with the outcome. If the report proved beyond a reasonable doubt Donald Trump worked with the Russians to win the 2016 Presidential election, a good chunk of the country would say it was fake news, no matter how well sourced it was. If the report showed Trump was as innocent as a newborn, a good chunk of the country would claim the report was a sham and that Trump used his power and influence to affect the outcome.

And what we got was firmly between these two extremes. A redacted report (as required by law after the Starr Report) made the Left mad because they know there’s good stuff that proves Trump is guilty. And even if there isn’t, they claim there’s enough there to warrant impeachment. The report also made Trump supporters ecstatic because it showed (even with the redactions) that the President wasn’t guilty and the investigation was a sham from the word go. To me, however, the Mueller Report doesn’t prove Trump’s guilt or innocence because it wasn’t meant to do either.

At its core, the Mueller Report was a mutli-million dollar job project for people who want to keep our eyes off the real issues in this country, not the least of which being the federal government spying on a private citizen in the hopes of getting some dirt to help a severely flawed candidate limp into the White House because it was “her turn.”

But I’m totally not cynical.

Yes, there were a number of Trump associates who plead guilty to crimes…that were unrelated to the campaign itself. Yes, the funds seized from the aforementioned guilty parties was more than the cost of the investigation…which ultimately didn’t turn up anything concrete about the actual subject matter of the investigation, Donald Trump. Yes, the report uncovered suggestions that Trump may have possibly broken the law…but leaves that open to interpretation to the point of being irrelevant. Yes, the report did leave the job of holding the President accountable to the crimes (real or imagined) to Congress…which is what they are supposed to do anyway. In other words, we’re pretty much back where we started, but now we have a report.

Yay for us?

The real kicker here is the Mueller Report might be worthless at the jump because it may not be used as grounds for impeachment. Under that little document the kids today call the Constitution, a President can be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors. But what if the crimes are committed before the President is sworn in? That’s a question the Left hasn’t thought to ask before now in their rush to impeach Trump, and it’s a question the Right hasn’t thought to ask before now in their rush to defend Trump. And it’s a pretty big question to be overlooked.

Put simply, the Mueller Report is a lot like making hot dogs: you’ll enjoy it better if you don’t think about what went into making it. The problem (among several I could rattle off here) is the reason we have the report in the first place is fundamentally flawed and politically motivated, which makes any result questionable at best. I’m not a fan of the President, but I have to call bullshit when I see it, and basing an entire impeachment case off the Mueller Report and what lead up to it is USDA Grade A all-American bullshit. Expecting good results from bad faith is foolish.

It’s important that we separate the report from the man, however. Robert Mueller may be a choirboy or a criminal, but until we know the man, we should not judge him. From where I sit, he has kept his mouth shut for the most part while investigating the allegations, so that speaks well of his commitment to justice. Let’s not malign him until he acts or says something that warrants it.

In the meantime, let’s direct our ire towards the Mueller Report and make sure we’re not getting caught up in the debate over minutia coming from it. There are serious legal, Constitutional, and ethical concerns that need to be addressed before any action can and should be taken.

But knowing politicians, they can’t be bothered with said concerns because they ruin the political narrative.

But, still totally not cynical.

NO!

After 675 days of time spent on 28 hearings, 121 interviews and testimonies, 53 document requests with the cost to American taxpayers of 25 million dollars. Special Counsel Robert Mueller has submitted his report to the Attorney General of the United States after investigating the President and his campaign for collusion with Russia and obstruction during the 2016 Presidential Election.

Special Counsel Mueller has reported that there will be no further indictments against the President’s current or former staff or any indictments against the President himself. The multi page report can be summed up with the following:

There is NO evidence of collusion with the Russian Federation or its agents by anyone associated with the Trump campaign or Trump Administration, including the President himself.

Of course the watch dog who has been witch hunting the President for the last 675 days is now being called biased by the Democratic Left and they are calling the report incomplete. The reason? They lost the 2016 election and can’t understand why the American public voted for Donald Trump. So it has to be some kind of criminal act or conspiracy that allowed him to win the election. Robert Mueller has gone from the hero of the Left to their public enemy number 2 in just 48 hours time.

This is normal for the Democratic Left. If you are with them. You are held in high honors. The moment you step outside of their talking points you loose all credibility. They are the party of denial. Denying science when it shows that there are 2 genders. Denying due process when it shows Kavanaugh to be innocent. Denying history when it shows socialism always fails. And now denying Mueller when there is no collusion found.

Trump Secret Meetings

The Leftist media and the low information “useful idiots” on the internet are freaking out. It has been discovered that President Trump has had meetings with the Russian President. But the context of those meetings is not known to the media or public.

Now a rational mind easily knows and understands that world leaders meet periodically on matters of national security and the context of those meetings is not publicly disclosed. It is classified information and generally released on a need to known basis only. And the press doesn’t need to know. Even members of congress will not be privy to the information unless it is directly impacts some committee.

But since the Left doesn’t have a rational mind among them and they all suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome, this is the proof to their theory that the President is in collusion with Russia. Facts wont matter, they never do with those who suffer from TDS. President Trump is the boogeyman and now they have proof.

This is will be big in the House. This will be wildfire across social media. And this is total nonsense.

Leftist Lexicon Word of the Week – 1 of 2

For the first time in Leftist Lexicon Word of the Week history, I had a hard time deciding on a Word of the Week. There were a couple of news stories this past week that caught my attention, and both involve words that the Left seek to use as a means to advance their agenda. After careful deliberation (i.e. a coin toss), I decided on a word. Oh, and the Minnesota Vikings have elected to defer to the second half.

collusion

What the Left believes it means – an illegal secret agreement between two parties where vital information is shared with an enemy, grounds for impeachment

What it really means – a secret agreement between two parties that may or may not be illegal or grounds for impeachment

Thanks to Donald Trump, Jr. and an email practice arguably worse than Hillary Clinton’s, the Left have glommed onto collusion their latest word to throw around without actually knowing what it means. On the plus side, Mr. Trump didn’t send out pictures of his…shall we say Little Junior…to underage girls. Still, the Left is having a field day accusing President Donald Trump of having a secret agreement with Russia to take down Hillary Clinton in the 2016 Presidential election.

Let me bring up one slight bone of contention here. As of right now, Russia is still considered an ally. A scummy ally, I grant you, but an ally nonetheless (or at least they were during Barack Obama’s Presidency, as former Secretary of State Clinton can attest if she’s being honest. I know, it’s less likely than Bill remaining faithful.) As a result, the information shared with Trump or any of his campaign team may or may not be illegal to obtain.

And that’s where the Left’s ideas about collusion get messier than Jackson Pollock painting on the San Andreas Fault during a 6.9 on the Richter Scale. If there is alleged collusion as the Left defines it, then the information provided must be illegal in some way. So, what was it?

Enter the mess. No one really knows what the Russians had that they were willing to give to the Trump campaign. Through some investigation, it was determined a Russian lawyer with ties to Vladimir “Rudy” Putin offered damning evidence of possible unethical/illegal activities by Hillary Clinton. Is that illegal in and of itself? That’s the problem: we don’t actually know, and Donald Trump, Jr., isn’t giving specifics that would help us determine the legality of the information. Put another way, we have the word of someone with a vested interest in downplaying the potential illegality of his actions versus the presumptions of people with a vested interest in hyping the potential illegality of his actions. Until we learn more about the information in question, I have to opt for Donald Trump Jr.’s version of events with the possibility of future revision upon receipt of new information. You know, the whole “innocent until proven guilty” thing?

The collusion allegation is the latest in a long string of double standards the Left has for the Right. Whenever a member of the Right does something as serious as…dare I say it…having an overdue library book, the Left says that person has lost all moral authority to speak, act, or lead and should step down from any leadership position he or she holds. Of course, when a member of the Left does something as trivial as…let’s just create a hypothetical offense…leaving a young woman to drown in a car overnight while he went home and slept (again, it’s completely hypothetical because I’m sure the Left would come down hard on someone as horrible as the guy in this purely hypothetical scenario), the Left screams “witch hunt” and complains about how nasty and partisan politics has gotten. Notice the Left never admits their people do anything wrong while accusing the Right of making Adolf Hitler look like an Amish Boy Scout? That’s by design.

The Left operates under the notion that if you can’t beat them, make them beat themselves. (Get your minds out of the gutter, you cheeky monkeys!) This idea may not have originated with Saul Alinsky, but it was certainly documented in his “Rules for Radicals” when he wrote, “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” This is particularly effective against the Right because they tend to hold consistency and doing the right thing in high regard, unlike the Left whose standards are often double, triple, and quadruple depending upon the situation.

To put it in the context of the Donald Trump Jr. situation, the Left wants President Trump to hold his son to the standard he held Hillary Clinton to during the campaign. And if President Trump were a typical modern Republican, he would capitulate faster than a Frenchman in Berlin in 1942. Or today, for that matter. But, Trump isn’t a typical modern Republican. He isn’t afraid to play by the Left’s rules and expose their hypocrisy, which makes it harder for the Left to score points. Not to mention, Trump hopefully learned his lesson after the Left got him to distance himself from members of his staff who were tied to the Russia story because once the Left gets you to surrender on one item, they will flood you with additional requests similar to the original item. At this point, I’m surprised the Left hasn’t demanded Trump divorce Melania Trump because she is married to him.

If I were advising the President, I would tell the Left to pound sand when it comes to the collusion allegations. Until they bring some actual evidence the information Russia allegedly gave to the Trump campaign is illegal and not just morally gray, all they’re doing is throwing around a term they don’t understand in an attempt to overturn an election where their candidate lost because, well, she’s Hillary Clinton. And, if he wanted to twist the knife a bit more, he could remind them how the world isn’t black and white, but merely shades of gray. After all, isn’t that what the Left always tells us about moral issues?
