Another Mass Shooting

First of all. This is a tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families. Make no mistake though, this is not “common place”.

For something to be “common place” it must happen with frequency and it must happen nearly everywhere. Most mass shootings are far from being frequent and still further from happening everywhere. This is why a mass shooting makes national news. If it were “common place”, like car accidents, a mass shooting in California wouldn’t be known in Iowa. As we would have our own to deal with instead of another location’s.

This is also not an issue about gun control. And needing stricter laws on gun ownership. Or blaming gun manufactures for gun violence. Those are all steps by the left to slowly erode the 2nd Amendment, which they hate, and remove guns from the citizenry. It’s harder for an unarmed citizenry to rebel after all.

Although the details of this latest mass shooting out of California are not fully yet known as I write this posting. I am most certain that the shooter will be mentally unstable. We used to have asylums for people who are not mentally sound and who would hurt themselves or others. But it was deemed to be politically incorrect by, again the Liberal left, to lock these dangerous people away.

This is mental health epidemic and what we are seeing proves the point that the mentally unstable should be locked away so they do not hurt others or themselves. We cannot go back to the poor treatment that these people received in the past decades but we can take them off the streets. And we should.

  1. EXACTLY! Mental health is a significant issue, especially in connection with gun violence, but most people want an easy fix or to scapegoat guns and gun owners instead of dealing with a legitimate issue that could have a direct impact on gun violence.
